Hi, I'm Jessi Taylor, an Arizona-based Tattoo Artist and the creative behind Jay Tay Tattoo. I am also a mom, a wife, a world traveler, a plant lover, and an artist of various other mediums such as fiber art and photography.
I began tattooing in 2021 by apprenticing under tattooer, Zack Taylor (he also happens to be my husband!). I work with clients who are looking for a fully custom, cohesive, and balanced tattoo design. I specialize "illustrative" and "neo-traditional" tattooing styles but add my own spin to it with inspiration from historical art eras such as Folk, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco.
Your TATTOO JOURNEY
How to get started
Maybe this is your first tattoo...or maybe you have a collection already and are looking for a new artist. Wherever you are on your tattoo journey, I'm glad you've found your way here! I aim to make the process of getting tattooed by me as easy-going as possible, because after all this is supposed to be a super fun moment for you! I'm a kind-hearted and welcoming tattooer and treat everyone with respect,..no tattoo high-horse over here! I always communicate clearly and timely, and in doing so, I've built some amazing relationships with my clients!
Vision
Personalized Design
This is the first stage, we connect to see what your overall vision is for your tattoo and make sure it is something in my design wheelhouse. At this point, you can send me any reference photos you like, placement ideas, your size and budget expectations, as well as a photo of the body part you are wanting the tattoo to be custom designed for. I kindly ask you do not send any AI imagery.
The design
Time to Create
I begin designing one week out from your appointment, which must be confirmed before any drawing begins. If you book an appointment less than a week out, then I will begin drawing it asap. You will receive a first draft and give me feedback at that time. Once I am clear on any feedback (or if it is good to go), I will final render the design and color/shade it for your appointment day.
Tattoo Day
Let's Have Some Fun!
Once you arrive for your appointment, we will determine the size and perfect placement of your tattoo. I will clean/prep your skin, stencil the tattoo on, and we will get to tattooing! I am always set up for my clients so your not just sitting around. You run the appointment so I will check in with you often and ask you if you need breaks. You have the option if you are doing a very large piece, to break it up into multiple sessions once line work is complete. No pressure to finish a giant tattoo in one session.
Aftercare
Healing Vibes
I apply a clear bandage called Saniderm to cover your tattoo to heal. It is the same bandages that are used in the hospitals for wound care, so it is waterproof and you can shower with it on. I will give you a full Aftercare sheet and verbal directions at your appointment, too. I always suggest using natural products such as Coconut Oil or Vitamin E Oil.
I do not recommend petroleum products
(no Aquaphor no Vaseline)
